Slow Flow Hatha Yoga
The very word yoga means union with soul/spirit essence. For thousands of years, yoga was almost exclusively philosophical and meditative. It is actually only in the last hundred or so years that the vast majority of 'asanas' (stretches into and out of different postures and positions) - what almost everyone thinks of as yoga - have been created.
In classes, whilst I will not overly emphasise the ultimate spiritual purpose of yoga (I acknowledge most students come for physical, wellbeing and relaxation reasons), I always strive to teach from my soul/spirit essence, which serves to bring a depth and a reconnection for my students in addition to the physical benefits. For me, like Natural Energy Healing, the practice of Hatha Yoga is an energetic and more direct approach (in that it bypasses words and the thinking mind) to connecting you with your soul/spirit essence.
Yoga is pure mindfulness of movement, stretching and breathing and because it requires your full focus and concentration on the present moment, it will free you from negativity, enhance self compassion, happiness and overall wellbeing, as well as the well known physical benefits. It's the perfect antidote to get out of your head.
Slow Flow Hatha Yoga is gentle relative to other kinds of yoga and I specialise in making it accessible to all, whatever your abilities or disabilities.
I teach public classes, private classes and one to one's, both in person in west Devon and online.
