Presence & Meditation
teaching
"[There is] one reason why most people are always trying to escape from the present moment and are seeking some kind of salvation in the future. The first thing they might encounter if they focused their attention on the Now is their own [stored emotional] pain, and this is what they fear. If they only knew how easy it is to access in the Now the power of presence that dissolves the past and its pain..."
Eckhart Tolle ~ Practising the Power of Now, p. 81-2
The 'power of presence' that Eckhart Tolle speaks of arises as you connect more and more with your soul/spirit essence. You'll feel it ~ it's both liberating and wonderful.
Being more present is key: Getting into a positive habit of becoming present as often as you can (if only for a few seconds) throughout the day is a highly effective way to disempower the negative habit and accompanying momentum of overthinking and overanalysis, both of which fuel negative emotions (including anxiety and self criticism), low mood and depression.
Frequently becoming present over and over again breaks your identification with these often dominating, seductive and powerful mental and emotional experiences - in time, you stop believing they are you - you begin to realise they are transient, fleeting and not who you really are.
This is the true meaning and purpose of Mindfulness - to practice having our full attention on the present moment and accepting whatever it contains, without judgement. This practice will free you from negativity and enhance self compassion, happiness and overall wellbeing. I will show you how.
Meditation
Meditation is a concentrated and powerful way to practice mindfulness.
However, meditation will be fruitless if we don't put it into practice. Therefore, I place equal importance on teaching you a practice that works for you and supporting you to establish it in your daily life.
Having practised daily meditation myself since 1997 and taught since 2005, I also work with seasoned meditators who encounter difficulties with their practice.
A regular practice will help you develop and strengthen the power of your presence.
Peace Meditation
Peace Meditation is a beautiful practice that I have been teaching since 2005, which builds inner strength, positivity and resilience and is a sure way to find peace in your heart and mind, regardless of what is happening in your life or the world.
Peace Meditation comes from the ancient self-realization system of yoga and meditation practices. It is suitable for complete beginners, or those who do not feel fulfilled by their current meditation practice, Peace Meditation is a complete practice in its own right, or, if you wish, a stepping stone to a more advanced practice (which I can advise you on).
